My journey into the world of health and fitness began at a young age. One of my earliest memories involves putting on a leotard and leg warmers and doing Jane Fonda workout tapes with my sister. I participated in competitive gymnastics as an early teen and throughout high school, and began teaching group fitness classes as a way to make money and stay fit in college. I eventually obtained my Personal Trainer certification and graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in Health, Sport, and Exercise Science.
Exercise is an important component of health and I hope to demonstrate that working out can be a blast! Currently, I keep my routine interesting with circuit training, running, spinning, plyometrics, interval training, yoga, kickboxing….and anything else that sounds fun! I love running and have run over 25 races, including: one marathon, two 200-mile relay races, one 100-mile relay, seven half-marathons, and a dozen 10K and 5K races.
Since nutrition plays a vital role in achieving health and fitness goals, I will regularly post tips, recipes, and information on balanced eating. I believe in eating quality food that fuels and nourishes the body. I make healthful eating a priority in my life, because it makes me feel well physically and emotionally.
For the past seven years I have been training clients and have witnessed people transform their lives, through hard work and dedication. I decided to create this blog in hopes that I can help others seeking motivation to achieve their heath and fitness goals, big or small. Please contact me with any questions or feedback, I would love to hear from you!
